Detoxifying Green Smoothie: My daily greens!

It’s Week 4 of our Camp 45 challenge and nutrition is really going to take our results to the next level! I’m introducing the team to the Eat to Fuel Guidelines this week, which include getting 4-5 cups of veggies into your day. If you are not seeing results, your body is asking for more clean fuel-fruits and veggies!

Everyone needs a staple green smoothie in their lives. I’ve actually been drinking this one for YEARS. I started pairing it with a protein back in 2014 when nutrition helped me lose 20lbs over a 1 year period and I finally said ‘enough is enough’! I can’t out-train my diet anymore! Juicing can be expensive, and the fiber in fruits and veggies is super beneficial to our bodies, so you can use a high powered blender to make your own green juice, with less work and more nutrients .

PAIR THIS SMOOTHIE:

  • With a turkey or black-bean burger

  • In the morning with egg whites

  • At night with dinner instead of a salad

This green smoothie helps:

  • Reduce Bloating (AMAZING to help reveal those abs you’re workin’ so hard for!)

  • Flush out toxins, makes your skin GLOW

  • Gives your brain a real ‘sugar’ fix, fake sugars really start to taste like crap!

  • Make better nutrition choices throughout the day

  • Get 4-5 CUPS of veggies at once (I aim for 5 cups of veggies a day!)

Make these in freezer storage containers (this makes 2 smoothies) so you can split between you and a significant other/kids, etc. This is husband tested and APPROVED!

DIRECTIONS

I prefer to freeze all the ingredients together, so when you blend them up they’re cold!

1) Dump all ingredients into your blender and add water

  • 1 1/2 cups water (let is sit in the blender for a min. or 2, it helps defrost everything to blend up smooth)

  • 1-1 1/2 cups fresh leafy spinach

  • 1 cup frozen green grapes

  • 1/2-3/4 of green apple

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 frozen banana (can use 1/2)
